Welcome to 2011 where what you put in,

is what you get out!

2011 has started with a lot of energy and enthusiasm from staff and students alike. We are focusing this term on, 'Crossing the Finish Line - How do I get there?'.  We want our students to be excellent planners, who have clear goals that they want to achieve.  We also want them to be the sort of people that don't give up part way and do whatever they have to do to 'cross the finish line'.  They will be practising this when they complete their triathlon at the end of this term. 

On Tuesday of the first week of school all students ran their first ever triathlon. This was their 'practice run' that will help them to know what they have to work on when the final triathlon is run here at school on April 11 th and 12th.  We were very fortunate to have Mark Weedon and Rick Wells of TriKids here to inspire and motivate our students to do their very best.  Mark made sure that we had all the necessary equipment and organisation to complete the triathlon. 

We are also loving our pool that is here!  It is great to see so many of our students making the most of the pool and learning not just how to swim but all of the other things associated with being safe and confident in the water.  If you are concerned about anything to do with your child swimming please come and see us.

Weclome to the new students from Auckland University who are in their last year of teacher training.  They learn alot about what they need to be teachers and they also contribute a lot to our school.  We wish them well while they are here. 

And the most exciting thing on our calendar is surely the MAKEOVER!  The Life Church will be here on Saturday Feb 26 with 300 people to prepare our school for an extreme makeover on the following Saturday March 5th.  On that day there will be 600 people giving our school a makeover - we are truly blessed!  Please come down and be part of something special.  We'll send home more info as we get closer...
