Room 17 2012!

Our Inquiry is all about biodiversity and I can honestly say that these students have taken to it like ducks to water!

We have looked at our Inquiry topic through two key issues - Pollution and Conservation- and how to reduce our carbon footprint.

Discussions in the classroom now centre around minimizing our impact on our natural environment, and to this end, our sculpture is such that eventually, it will return to the Earth and only the explanation plaque will be the reminder of what once was...our sculpture.

Wow, the holidays are almost upon us!

As the term winds down, we reflect on all that we have been through and all that we have achieved.

We had a fabulous triathlon yesterday! It was a day filled with excitement and passion!

A huge congratulations to all the students who took part - what perseverance you displayed - awesome stuff!

So as the term winds down, we come to the nitty gritty - 3 way conferences

I look forward to meeting those of you who are able to come along, to discuss your child's learning.

Kia orana and welcome to another blog on being successful teachers and learners.

So how do we win this educational journey by creating new friends and being a positive influence on each other?

Perhaps we can all try hard to constantly do the following:

1. Don't criticize, condemn or complain about each other on our educational journey - we're all here wanting to do our best

2. Be honest and sincere in our appreciation of each other - giving both praise and guidance

3. Help each other to become passionate learners

Vibrant, cheerful, enthusiastic learners, coupled with a high energy, high achieving learning environment, can only lead to success.

So how can we encourage our students to be successful? What action plan can they follow to assist them in achieving high quality learning?
