Kia orana everyone!
I am Ambrose Sebastian Timo, one of the four fantastic teachers working with our amazing year 7 & 8 students in Nga Manukura. This is my 7th year of teaching, all of which have been at Sylvia Park School. I was born and raised in Blockhouse Bay, which is considered to be the west side of Auckland city. Growing up in Auckland I played many sports with Rugby union and Rugby league being my favourites where I have really enjoyed coaching both codes here at SPS. I am Cook Island, Samoan and have recently taken classes to learn and understand the language and customs of my heritage. During the holidays I work with a youth organisation called Edmund Rice Camps Auckland volunteering to help families and children who need a break. Since starting in 2013 I have felt welcomed in this community and now I can’t imagine being apart from it. Wherever my teaching takes me I’ll always know that SPS is a place that I can call home.
